getting rid of ticks on house and dog?

My dog seems to have brought ticks with him from the daily walks I give him, but I bought K9 Advantix and put it on his back. Before I did this, I used to find ticks in my room (I found to female ticks but at different times, and I've seen a male tick crawl up the wall, and just today i saw one hanging on the wall outside my room). I was completely disgusted and irritated so i decided to wash all my bedsheets and I sprayed the perimeter of my room with some ortho brand spray that claims to kill a whole list of bugs inculding ticks. But like i said, just today I found a tick on the wall outside my room and just now i found a small tick on my dog's chest, just two weeks after I applied the Advantix. What can I do to get rid of these ticks from my house and my dog! I am sooo desperate.

REALLY, IF YOU’VE SPRAYED THAT ORTHO STUFF AND YOU’VE PUT K9 ADVANTIX ON HIM, THERE’S NOT MUCH MORE YOU CAN DO. THE ONLY OTHER THINGS I CAN THINK OF IS 1) TRY FRONTLING INSTEAD OF K9 ADVANTIX, SEE IF THAT WORKS BETTER AND MAKE SURE YOU GET IT FOR HIS WEIGHT 2) USE A “BOMB” IN YOUR HOUSE. TAKE YOU, YOUR DOG AND ANY OTHER LIVING THING OUT OF YOUR HOUSE, COVER YOUR BED AND STUFF AND SET THE BOMB OFF. THAT WOULD KILL THE BUGS. OR CALL AN EXTERMINATOR AND LET HIM DO ALL THAT STUFF. THEY COULD DEFINETLY GET RID OF THEM. I HOPE THAT HELPS.

i use sergeants natures guardian. makes the cats and dogs smell great also
