do you guys think i should switch flea med?

luv ellell asked:

i am using frontline now but i kinda want to switch to K9 advantix. what do you guys think? give me some of ur insights. thank you!
shouldn’t K9 advantix also prevent heartworm? i mean since it repells misquitos(spell)
i thought about revolution too, but i don’t like the fast that it works on both cats and dogs. to me it kinda makes me think that it’s not specific and not just designed for dogs. i don’t have anything against cats i just like to be specific about things that i used on my dog.

frontline protects against all stages of fleas, chewing lice, and ticks. Advantix protects against fleas, and repels mosquitoes. It depends all on what you have a problem with in the area that you live. If live near woods, or have ticks around…stick with the frontline. They are both equally good products otherwise. We carry both where I work.

I like Frontline. But there is another thing that I like better (it is a bit more expensive though), it protects against all flea, ticks, etc. and it is a heartworm medicene.

    It’s called Revolution

Frontline is also made for cats too! And there’s Advantage for cats. Revolution comes in different packages depending on whether it’s for dog or cat, or what size animal. Nothing wrong with a product having both dog and cat versions, it’d be silly not to! The only reason there isn’t Advantix for cats is because it contains permethrin, which is highly toxic to cats.

Any particular reason you’re not happy with the Frontline? Is it just because you’re after a heartworm preventative too? If so then by all means switch to K9 Advantix, it’s a good brand too.
