Sweets asked: I've seen all the different brands out there, and I don't know what the difference in them are. I'm looking to save a few bucks, doesn't require a perscription, and without skimping out on the protection they offer, but must be easy on the skin, since she's got sensitive skin. I've tried the 3 in 1 hartz junk, and that doesn't do any good, it just stinks like rancid baby powder. I WON'T be doing that again.
Is the pill form better? I've seen Program and Capstar in pill form. What's the gimmick with these? How do they differ?
What about frontline, frontline plus, k9 advantix, advantage, biospot, etc.?
Please give me any good or bad reactions your dog has had with any and all of these products! What's your fav?
Thanks sooo much for your help! My pup would thank you too, if she could talk! lol
;o)
Advance???
There's advantage, and (k9) advantix. Which one do you mean???
Yes, frontline comes in 2 forms, pill and topical, and now there's the frontline plus topical. Is the pill form BETTER???
NATURAL would be nice, but will it do a constant job like the drugs??? Is this garlic something I would have to use daily? Would it make my pup stink???
LOVE the link!
What's Sentury pro? I've never in my life heard of it. Is that any good???

Is your dog too small or too old to bounce up on furniture with ease? Do they have trouble reaching their favorite spots on your bed or couch? There is a great solution for pets that have these problems; cheap dog steps. Now when I say cheap dog steps I do not mean they are not well made, I am just simply stating that the price is cheap. The step that I am describing is called Doggy Steps. It is the perfect height for dogs to step-up to their favorite spot and would also work well for getting in your vehicle. Dogs with hip dysplasia, arthritis or just simple old age will benefit from these steps. Last but not least the added bonus is that they are very light weight and portable. They can be taken anywhere with ease. Here are a few examples of some prices that I found across the internet for the Doggy Steps (cheap dog steps) and where you can find it at the best price.
As Seen On TV Guys
$24.99
Target
$19.99
The Pampered Pet Mart
$25.95
Petco
$24.99
These are all great prices for this product but I still found it cheaper.
Here doggy steps (cheap dog steps) for only $15.95

Kiely98 asked: Yesterday I found a dog tick on my dog, right at the top of her inner ear. I pulled it out successfully, head and all, and then killed it. This is a pretty common occurrence for us, due to where we live. We treat both of our dogs with Frontline, and they both get vaccinated for Lyme disease each year. But this is weird--right where I pulled the tick off, there is a bump. It's not a normal bump like after you pull a tick, especially since I'm positive that I got the whole thing out. It actually feels like there is another tick completely buried inside her skin! I can roll it around, and it feels like a plump tick. It causes my dog no pain at all. Has anyone ever heard of a tick burrowing completely under the skin before? It's going to be a few days before my vet can see my dog, and I'm a little worried! Oh yes, and I almost forgot--I started both dogs on K9 Advantix today, instead of Frontline, which is what they have been on.
Maxtaner, you obviously didn't read the question. The possibly tick is COMPLETELY INSIDE the skin---none of it is showing, or I would know whether or not it is a tick! Also, recent research has shown that heating ticks is a bad idea--when a tick is heated, it sort of vomits blood back into the host, which is exactly what you don't want to happen...gosh, thanks so very much for your completely irrelevant answer. Sorry to be so rude everyone, but it just annoys me when people answer questions that they don't even read!

hmv_84 asked: A while ago I got a dog from the pound. She is a Chihuahua mixed with Terrier I believe. She was already 6 years old when we got her. Before she lived with an old lady who died and she was left in the house for weeks before being noticed. She is very anti-social except towards myself and my husband. She will play with us and play fight but when we are out she is scared to death of other people. On the other hand when we have people over to our house she tries to attack them and will constantly bark non stop. She is just very mean. I know that that is the nature of those kind of dogs but she is a bit extreme. How can I try to fix this behavior in her? And is she too old to learn new behavior?

Karen M asked: I personally **** it when someone walks past me in the street with a dog that starts barking and scares the crap out of me!!! I find it extremely rude when their owners don't even apologize. Just the other day, an Alsatian was barking its head off right in front of a shop as I was about to go in. I got a massive fright and jumped as walked throuht he door, causing the owner to remark "Never heard a dog bark before,eh?". Do you agree with me or should I be more accepting of our canine "friends"?

Jennifer21 asked: He is a 70 pound pitbull mix and only this summer while brushing him or petting him- i keep finding these large(in height not width) black scabs yet if you pull them off there is just a red area underneath, no blood, puss or any sort of infection. Why does he keep getting these seemingly out of nowhere? so far he has gotten three, one between his shoulder blades, one almost the same spot but further down the back, and another in the middle of the back on near the spine. He is a little over 1 and a half years old and has a shiny, red/tan coat which sheds a bunch but has never had scabs. He has also always itched ALOT, never breaking the skin but biting and itching everywhere. I also treat him monthly with K9 Advantix so it shouldn't be anything like that as he is mostly an inside dog.

If your dog has the right temperament for wearing costumes then there is a large amount of costume choices available to you and your dog. Finding cheap dog costumes can be a bit of a challenge. I have found some great places with prices below $20 and most are less than $10.
There are many pet owners who love dressing up their pets even if it isn’t Halloween. There are many different types of pet apparel and costumes available for events or everyday wear.
There are many different costumes available and here are just a few examples:
Halloween: Scooby-doo, Witches, Batman, K-9 Cop, Pumpkin, Clown, Superman, Peter Pan, Bone dog, Spider, Star Wars Yoda, Jack Sparrow, Dogzilla, Dinosaur, Pirate Pup, Devil, Hot Dog, Skunk and Frog Prince.
Everyday and Holidays: Parkas, Cable knit sweaters, baseball jersey, Lobster, Polo shirts, reindeer suite, football jersey, cheerleader, Elf, Sunglasses, Goggles, wedding dress, tuxedo, pig, track suite, pearl necklace collar, Hawaii shirt, bathrobes, sweatshirts, business suite, NYPD shirt, onsies, basketball jersey, print dresses, princess costumes, life jackets, bandanas, backpacks, hoodies and pajamas just to name a few.
The possibilities are endless! Here you can find cheap dog costumes for under $10.
Here are a few tips on dressing your dog in costumes:
- Make sure the costume is light and comfortable enough for them to wear.
- Costumes should never be too tight but loose enough to remove easily from your dog. Test the costume several days prior to the event.
- Watch your pet at all times when they are wearing a full costume.
- On Halloween; do not let your pet eat any candy or chocolate and especially keep wrappers away from them.
If your dog resists wearing a costume then it would be best not to force them at all. In most cases you will just end up with a ruined costume because they will do everything they can to get it off. Don’t be disappointed if your dog does not comply with your dress up, some are just not able to be patient with a costume.
Dressing your pets in their cute costumes can be a challenge but the reward of seeing your dog in a cute costume will definitely bring a smile to your face J
