JillyBean asked: We have 2 dogs, a pitbull and a english bulldog mix. The pit is 45 pounds and the bulldog mix is about 60. We have used the Frontline Plus flea and tick medicine, but was wondering if anybody uses the Bio Spot or K9 Advantix? I wouldn't expect the Frontline to eliminate 100% of ticks, but it seems like it hasn't been as effective lately. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

ArmyWife asked: I have tried so many things to get rid of her fleas, i live in Hawaii so fleas multiply faster here! I have treated the yard, gotten the flea pill and always put k9 advantix and others to try to prevent them.
When I treat her, it will get rid of her fleas for about 2 days and then they are back. I have bombed my house and everything... what could i be doing wrong?

luv ellell asked: i am using frontline now but i kinda want to switch to K9 advantix. what do you guys think? give me some of ur insights. thank you!
shouldn't K9 advantix also prevent heartworm? i mean since it repells misquitos(spell)
i thought about revolution too, but i don't like the fast that it works on both cats and dogs. to me it kinda makes me think that it's not specific and not just designed for dogs. i don't have anything against cats i just like to be specific about things that i used on my dog.

Sweets asked: I've seen all the different brands out there, and I don't know what the difference in them are. I'm looking to save a few bucks, doesn't require a perscription, and without skimping out on the protection they offer, but must be easy on the skin, since she's got sensitive skin. I've tried the 3 in 1 hartz junk, and that doesn't do any good, it just stinks like rancid baby powder. I WON'T be doing that again.
Is the pill form better? I've seen Program and Capstar in pill form. What's the gimmick with these? How do they differ?
What about frontline, frontline plus, k9 advantix, advantage, biospot, etc.?
Please give me any good or bad reactions your dog has had with any and all of these products! What's your fav?
Thanks sooo much for your help! My pup would thank you too, if she could talk! lol
;o)
Advance???
There's advantage, and (k9) advantix. Which one do you mean???
Yes, frontline comes in 2 forms, pill and topical, and now there's the frontline plus topical. Is the pill form BETTER???
NATURAL would be nice, but will it do a constant job like the drugs??? Is this garlic something I would have to use daily? Would it make my pup stink???
LOVE the link!
What's Sentury pro? I've never in my life heard of it. Is that any good???

Kiely98 asked: Yesterday I found a dog tick on my dog, right at the top of her inner ear. I pulled it out successfully, head and all, and then killed it. This is a pretty common occurrence for us, due to where we live. We treat both of our dogs with Frontline, and they both get vaccinated for Lyme disease each year. But this is weird--right where I pulled the tick off, there is a bump. It's not a normal bump like after you pull a tick, especially since I'm positive that I got the whole thing out. It actually feels like there is another tick completely buried inside her skin! I can roll it around, and it feels like a plump tick. It causes my dog no pain at all. Has anyone ever heard of a tick burrowing completely under the skin before? It's going to be a few days before my vet can see my dog, and I'm a little worried! Oh yes, and I almost forgot--I started both dogs on K9 Advantix today, instead of Frontline, which is what they have been on.
Maxtaner, you obviously didn't read the question. The possibly tick is COMPLETELY INSIDE the skin---none of it is showing, or I would know whether or not it is a tick! Also, recent research has shown that heating ticks is a bad idea--when a tick is heated, it sort of vomits blood back into the host, which is exactly what you don't want to happen...gosh, thanks so very much for your completely irrelevant answer. Sorry to be so rude everyone, but it just annoys me when people answer questions that they don't even read!
